Making a great wine

There is a small group of vineyards in Oakville that produced Cabernet Sauvignon unlike any that we have tasted. Located in the steeply terraced, red rock knolls of east Oakville, these special sites became our favorites. This provided the opportunity to make great wines of enduring character.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark and opulent expression of the Oakville appellation. Its name is derived from the terraced vineyards from which it came. This is a pure expression of the red slopes in the eastern hills. The color is darker, verging more toward the purple/red than its sister wine. Deeper, darker aromas predominate as well, with blackberry, chocolate and black currant filling the glass. The palate has a more assertive grip with black cherry on the entry leading to a more angular finish of blueberry and graphite. This is the Cabernet for the lover of the classic Oakville expression.
